VerifiedAgent helps visitors identify insurance producers and inspect available licensing information. This page explains what profile information and labels mean and how visitors can confirm details with the official regulator.
How profiles are assembled
Profiles may be created from publicly available or authorized licensing records and enriched with information supplied by a producer. A profile can include a name, NPN, licensing states, license numbers or status, lines of authority, carrier appointments where available, business contact information, websites, and reviews. Coverage and update frequency vary by source and jurisdiction. A blank field means information is unavailable to us or has not been provided; it does not prove that no license, appointment, or contact exists.
What an NPN and license record mean
The National Producer Number is an identifier used in producer licensing systems. A matching NPN helps connect records that may involve the same producer, but visitors should check names, jurisdiction, and other details before relying on a match. A license in one state or line of authority does not establish authority to sell every insurance product everywhere.
Claimed profiles and verification labels
A claimed profile means an account completed VerifiedAgent’s claim procedure and is associated with that profile. Email code verification confirms control of the destination used in that step; it does not by itself prove identity, current license status, regulatory endorsement, or the accuracy of every profile field. A “verified” label, if used, must be defined on the specific page to match the checks actually performed. VerifiedAgent is an independent directory and is not a government licensing authority.
Checking current status
Licenses can expire, be suspended, change status, or be updated after our last import. Before choosing an agent, verify the current license and applicable line of authority directly with the relevant state insurance department or its official lookup. Ask the agent to confirm the products they can offer and any company appointment when relevant. Profile views, ratings, and reviews do not establish legal authorization or product suitability.
Reviews and contact information
Reviews reflect the opinions of their authors and are not licensing records or a guarantee of service quality. Contact details may be supplied by agents, sourced from records, or become outdated. A producer who believes information is incorrect can use our correction and dispute process.
Report a problem
Use the “Report Profile” link on the relevant page or contact support department with the profile URL, NPN if known, the field at issue, and a source or document supporting the correction. Do not send identity documents or sensitive policy information through a public review.
